  1. During the final paper, I did my best on trying to mix my sources together properly instead of having them randomly appear as information in my essay. From my first paper to my final paper I definitely came a long way in terms of improving. Especially structural wise, I think my structure towards in text citations and the overall formatting of a paper were really sloppy in phase 1. So I am glad I learned how to fix them for my final paper. Also with each new phase I was able to make my ideas and arguments clearer for my audience. The steps that I have taken to make my paper better were using the Grammerly program and trying to relate the topic of introverts and extroverts to anyone who reads my paper. Also analyzing my paper over and over again to make sure the final paper made sense. I learned from this class that I can add style to my paper by choosing good transitions and keeping the readers interest by giving examples as to how introverts and extroverts express themselves. This class also help me discern good sources from bad sources. I also learned from this class that time management is very important, so that you are not forced into rushed editing.

  2. Throughout this whole process of writing these papers I have learned many, many, many, different strategies for writing papers. My personal favorite lesson was creating the rebuttal to my contending argument, and while mine probably was not the greatest, I think it did get the point across that I was trying to lobby for. The whole aspect of the contending argument though held a lot of interest to me because I see how that one element makes a point stronger, sturdy, and more defensible to attack and division which I therefore think makes the paper more audience friendly.
Overall though, this entire journey has just been utterly exhausting. Fun, but man this thing has been absolutely strenuous and draining. If I never write another paper again, it will be too soon. However, that is of course unlikely. From the first phase to the final one, I have learned new strategies on how to properly construct a paper, conduct my dialogue, and make a paper more audience friendly. While I still believe I have many, many, many more strides to take, I am positive that I will be able to take what I learned from this class and apply it to future English classes, and other classes alike, when I am writing other papers.
So in conclusion, I just want to thank you Ms. Taylor. It has been fun and I hope you have a great summer. To the rest of y’all, I want to thank you as well as you have all made this class enjoyable and entertaining to say the least. May God bless you Ms. Taylor and you my classmates, in all your ventures and may you all have absolutely fantastic and amazing summers. It has been a joy of mine to be in this class with you, and multiple other classes as well with some of you. Never give up on your goals no matter what they may be. When life knocks you down, be sure to get back up. For our lives are not defined by whether or not we get knocked down. Instead, our life is defined by whether we get back up or not.
So again, I just want to thank you all for simply you being you. A unique and entirely original creation.

    In His name,
    Brandon Michael Williams
    De Colores and God bless!!

  3. In writing this final paper for the final phase, I have progressed very far since the 1st phase. Although, I felt it was tough deleting certain sources because I felt I needed more sources to explain more how graffiti and deejaying were alive to this day, in which it would support how all of Hip-Hop's essence is alive today. Nonetheless, I was able to cut it down for better understanding for the audience and follow through with the elements I did mention more of, which was: emceeing, break dancing, knowledge, as well as somewhat involving entrepreneurship, technologies, and street fashion. In the first phase I didn't have enough to even fully develop the foundation for the argument; in this phase, I was able to concretely argue why Hip-Hop's true essence exists, and I believe I did that on my final phase successfully and flowingly.

Not only have I evolved farther since the first phase, I have grown a lot since taking English 121 with Ms. Taylor. Last semester, I had trouble balancing out my creative writing side with keeping to the standards of a proper writing form. This semester, I have finally found that balance. This is proven through getting awesome grades and helpful comments from Ms. Taylor on all my papers. Learning more about research analysys, and language for rhetoric has had a lot of impact on my life , both in writing and explaining anything in general. Doing this research on Hip-Hop has also grown my understanding and awareness about Hip-Hop culture, and how relevant it really is in outr lives through its elements.

I would like to say thanks to all the students in the class for their presence in my life and affect on my paper and me in any way, even if I have forgotten some names. I would like to also thank Ms. Taylor, for literally everything, which includes: helping with choosing a topic, teaching me very essential writing and rhetoric both semesters, and for her presence in my life. I love them all, and I hope they prosper with grace to whatever more they are called to do in their lives.
    <3 God Bless!

  4. I think that my writing through the different phases has greatly improved. I know that my writing still needs work but it will continue to grow. I know that it is good to entice your audience and to make it clear who your audience is. Plus a counter argument makes you seem like a non biased author. Sadly I realized way to late that I forgot about turning in my final paper, but I think that even with that mistake that this class greatly helped my writing and it's because of the English 122 class that I believe my writing has improved since that written long ago phase one.

  5. I think I did a lot better towards the final project as far as researching and learning to do the annotated bibliographies. It will definitely help in future research papers that I have to tackle. I think I improved as far as using less passive writing styles and how to approach gearing my paper towards my audience. Was a fun class and I really enjoyed getting to know everyone !

  6. When signing up for this class, I felt that this class was going to be a little rough for me because my English 1 class that I took was a few years ago. This semester has been really crazy for me, and It has been really hard to concentrate on the tasks needed to be done, but with the great teachers that I have had this semester and the great friends I made it through. I believe I have come very far since the beginning of class. The topic I chose was not exactly easy when it came to find resources that were credible or within the United States.
Dealing with the Psychology of Conspiracy theories also gave me a chance to see what it was like to make information that was dry more enticing (very hard to do). The research tools given by the teacher and the multiple class sessions given to work on the essays made it very easy to keep on task. I have learned how to find credible sources, I have learned how to research easier, and I have learned what not to do as well. I do have to say though, I don’t think writing research papers is very fun and believe I will only do them when I absolutely have too. It was really great meeting everyone this semester, hope you have a great summer, take care.
