Directions: List no less than three and no more than ten topics that might interest you. If you know for sure that you want to research only one topic, please still come up with two alternatives that you might research, in case there is no evidence for your #1 topic.
Remember that these topics do not have to be what your final project results in, but they do need to be thoughtful, and realistic, topics.
If you brainstormed to get your topics, then express what you did (which exercises, what planning strategies, etc.).

Hip-Hop and the culture (the actual culture, not just the genre. ig: bboys/bgirls, MC's, graffiti writers, DJ's and turntablists, Zulu Nation, Planet Rock, etc.) - it's a broad topic, but I looked on EBSCO and there were a ton of articles, so I'll await and "bunny trail" till I hit an issue/question that I can write a thesis on within this subject.
ReplyDelete2. Addiction (Not so much substance addictions, more so on human body, common, and/or unusual addictions - what are root causes of it? What are psychological causes that most don't aren't aware about? Aren't we all dependent on addiction based on our different forms of anxieties? Aren't what most call "everyday habits" keep us from really feeling free?
3. Underground Artists vs. Mainstream Artists in music (specifically Hip-Hop) - is there really a line between the two or is it just dependent on perception? Are underground artists really independant or are they a whole different commodity pop culture? Are mainstream artists the phony ones that are most famous or are they really the independent artists that made it bigger than underground artists?
4. Corruption at SeaWorld - Why wasn't there more action done about the killing's of the trainers from Tilica (Killer Whale there), considering their possible consciousness of Tilica's past?
5. Awareness that we are human among many other animals - what keeps our perceptions of other lifeforms as though they comprehend and think like humans? Are they way beyond or just have a totally different life?
6. Parents and kids - What kinds of characteristics do we take in the most from our parents? What are different points in time when we decide who we really are?

ReplyDelete2. Beauty pageants and children: Should over-sexualization of young children be illegal? Should we subject children to pedophiles either in the audience or at home watching the TV in the name of trophies and prestige?
3. Strict style parenting vs. Friendship style parenting.
4. Religion and politics: Should religious politicians make/change laws based on their personal convictions? Do we want that kind of politician running our states/country?
5. Should those who have been cruel to animals be treated more harshly in the court of law rather than just a slap on the wrist?
6. Celebrities and legal issues: Should celebrities be let off the hook just because they're famous? Should we go after those who run the courts when they dismiss charges, despite an overwhelming amount of evidence that is enough to convict that particular celebrity?
