  1. The phase one helped me immensely in completing the essay. It helped me focus down on a defined topic and gave me a good starting idea. The blogs were beneficial to me as well. Having to write an introduction on the blog really help me in getting started with the actual writing of the essay, plus the blog were the class had to write out one of their paragraphs help me brain storm the order of what my paragraphs would be. However, for the phase two I will need to look over the sources I get a bit better than I did for the phase one.

  2. Phase one helped me clarify my topic and organize my thoughts into sections of what I really wanted my main points to be.It helped also when we went over not using absolutes, it helped me keep track of my soft evidence against my strong evidence. The down fall of just starting on phase one was that my limited two sources were not sufficient enough support/evidence to really justify a specific side of whether extrovert or introverts succeed more. For the next phase I will need to look out for biased resources and organizing the information I already have to fit the new information that I am going to put in.

  3. Phase one helped me get a better understanding of what exactly I needed to do in order to build a proper paper. I felt that only using two resources was not enough hard evidence and had to go find more to put into the paper. The blogs have been extremely helpful. I felt that the last couple of classes have helped as well. I do not feel that writing and researching are my strong suite, but I am trying to get a better understanding of what is required with the book, blogs, and exercises we have done. I feel that I will also need to look back at the information used in order to continue with phase 2.

  4. Phase one gave me a better idea of how to narrow down my topic as well as looking for resources that are more specific to my topic.Using the building blocks will be helpful as I expand my research for future assignments. Blogging has given me a general sense of what direction I'd like to be going with my topic as well.

  5. For the most part Phase One was "bleh", if that makes sense. For the most part, not a whole lot was helpful. However! The Writing Center, is my favorite place to go. I LOVE the Writing Center. It's the greatest place in the world and every time I go there I learn something new. They are the nicest, most honest, and helpful individuals you will ever meet, and are only going to offer advice that's going to benefit your paper. Lots of great help. For Phase Two, everyone should go there any time we are writing something.

Phase one was helpful for me. I found the readings and the class activities the most helpful. I still need help with organization and wording, but I think Phase One was helpful overall. In my opinion the blogs are a waste of time for me. Ive never been into using blogs and I always forget about them until the last moment.

  7. As I reflect on Phase One of our research paper for English 122, I notice that I utilized this unit in a way that helped and hindered me. One of the main ways that helped me was the blog assignments, mainly because I used it as a motivation and guide to get me started with my introduction and thesis. Plus, even though watching documentaries and interviews is in Phase Two, I saw one of the documentaries as an inspiration to writing my thesis, and since then, my passion for the subject I am writing about and argument I am proving is very high. However, though I did get some of my main research early in this unit, I also was late in applying some of the research in a way that supported my claims in my paper, in which this was the hindrance. The reason this happened was because I was working on other assignments for my other class, and I was trying to figure out what thesis to come up with based on self knowledge and the research I had and how I could utilize it. I also had to find more research at the "last minute" to help transition out of claims and other information I used. Nonetheless I put my full effort into this unit, and I have so many ideas and sources to prove my thesis for this research paper in whole, it's bananas! Although I cut out some information due to this assignment's guidelines that would have proved my thesis more thoroughly, I will certainly use that information and more throughout this semester. The guidelines for this paper is a possible hindrance, but it wasn't much of a concern. Overall, I utilized this unit the best that I could, as hindrance and help, and the next unit should be easier, as I have a thesis that I believe I can prove through the information I am gaining.

  8. Phase One helped me plan out my paper. Since the blogs/thesis had a due date, it gave me the push to think through a solid thesis for my paper. The work shop days in class helped as well because I am a lot more motivated when I am in class to get started on my paper. The hardest part for me is writing my introduction. Once I get going it is a lot easier. So having to write my introduction in advance helped me flow through the rest of my paper.

  9. Phase one was somewhat helpful for me, although I felt it was a bit redundant considering the first synthesis paper that we completed. I also feel that writing a 2-3 paper just to synthesize two sources is a bit of overkill. I would have likely enjoyed this project more without the addition of the “Revisiting Synthesis” project beforehand. What really helped me was Ms. Taylor’s advice concerning fallacies.

  10. Phase one was beneficial and also hindering as well. This paper not only helped me in being more precise with how I worded my searches but it also helped me understand what is an is not a good source to keep chasing. It was also hard to get substantial evidence to use that had enough weight behind them. the evidence presented the more tangible the argument. The blogs I'm sure where beneficial for some people due to responses, however, I was not given one in time for turn in. I'm sure feed back on those blogs will be more informative in later papers. Doing the paper in stages helped quite a bit. I gave me time to refrain my thoughts from the jumbled mess they begin as. Phase one was crucial for the transformation into phase two due to the information found can alter thoughts, or opinions possibly even my own. I found out through research that I was looking into the wrong areas and subjects because they didn't have substantial evidence to back up the theory. I'm looking forward to phase two and find out some new information on my topic
