Directions: If you have just begun looking at interviews and websites, explain how you think using these sources will help direct your research (and possibly make it more interesting?). If you have already been looking at websites and interviews, explain how you plan to integrate the sources into the larger work (your peers could benefit from your experience).
Reply: If you learned something from one of your fellow students, let him/her know, and be specific. If you can appreciate your classmate's experience, but do not want to appropriate his/her methods, politely tell the poster so (i.e. "I am very glad that you found a way to integrate your information in such an unconventional way. It is interesting how different people can approach research").

I have begun looking at interviews from NBC and Pbs. These sources will help my paper by putting more substance and support to my argument. I plan to integrate the interview either in the introduction or in the mince of talking about introverts.
ReplyDeleteI think its a good idea that youre using NBC and Pbs as a way to find interviews. I havent used those to search for my interviews, but I think I will start now.
DeleteThe interviews and websites that I've just started looking at are from YouTube and Crime Libraries that are online. Hearing from experts and people that have been involved with the boot camps do make the topic more interesting and they give me more of an idea of what direction I want to take with my topic.
ReplyDeleteI like how you are looking not only at YouTube but also the Crime library interviews that you can find. It's always better to have more than one source to look at, I should proberly do that to.
DeleteWill researching interviews and websites, I have realized that not only will it give my more hard facts and substance to my research paper but I am also gaining more knowledge to better prepare my argument. Having more hard facts by using these interviews and gaining more knowledge of the psychology of conspiracy theories better prepare me to be more persuasive in my paper.
ReplyDeleteOops I meant "While researching interviews and websites,"
DeleteAm interested to know if you have found any sites or interviews that have actual experts on the issue of conspiracy theorists? I know it's a broad topic, so kudos to you for taking it on ! :)
DeleteAlthough I have not begun looking for interviews yet because I am wanting to form the foundation of the paper first and foremost. However, I'm sure that whatever interview I use, it will be a great resource to my paper, because it will provide a solid and valuable piece of information that will support my overall thesis.
ReplyDeleteeven if you have not looked just yet, you may want to start little by little due to deadlines. Keep your field of possibilities open.
DeleteI have found a couple interviews for my paper and I find them to be helpful. They definitely back me up in my argument against child pageantry. But I haven't begun writing anything yet for my second paper as I want to find more interviews to help me out.
ReplyDeleteIt makes me happy that someone is also in the same boat as I am. I have almost NOTHING written for my second paper, but a load of information.
DeleteI have not started watching the interviews though I have written down a few interviews to look at based on the title, who is being interviewed, and the description of what is discussed. The interviews I plan on looking at are from YouTube. I think this will help direct my research because I am not getting a bunch of facts and statistical numbers but actual persons experiences or credible opinions.
ReplyDeleteWell I hope the interviews are helpful to you in directing your research, besides knowing the name of the video. The interviews I've looked up are helping to direct my research as well, like I said in my post, I need someone and their information to back up the person I've seen interviewed and their information. Make sure you have backup sources/information as well. Good luck!
DeleteUsing a wide variety of sources can bring depth and character to a paper by diversifying the premises. If you have support from different backgrounds and areas of expertise it increases the credibility of you and your words. Integrating these new types of sources should be carried out much in the same way as books and articles. Just be sure that the context and content matches the point you are writing about.

ReplyDeleteIve been searching for valid sources and interviews. Some may help to prove my credibility. I found an interview with an author diagnosed with Narcissistic Personilty Disorder that has written a book on malignant self love. I think that may provide interesting details to my paper. I think this interview along with other sources will help to make my point about Narcissism and how it relates to social media influence.
I agree that the interview with the diagnosed person will help your paper, you are also correct that other sources along with this one will provide you with a stronger paper. Great Job
DeleteInterviews that i've seen are giving me a better perspective on my argument in Hip-Hop. In fact, watching those interviews has been an enhancement of what I am arguing. There's information being given that I could research and use in my paper, and they even add to the meaning of the subject I'm doing. The only piece I'm missing is someone to back up the people being interviewed, and I know who that may be (Afrika Bambatta), but I also feel as though the people being interviewed are the backing to what they say. Overall, I'm on a good track with my research in watching the interviews.
ReplyDeleteThat's great that you are finding interviews that are strengthening your argument. As for the piece that is missing, maybe the website where you got your interview will have some links to connect you with some more support and back up for your evidence. You could try looking up that name you mentioned (Afrika Bambatta) at Wikipedia and then find the links at the bottom of the Wikipedia page where they found their information. That could lead you to the support you need.
DeleteI have begun trying to find an interview relating to my topic. Doing this, it will really help support my argument while also putting in multiple perspectives. It will help make my paper more credible as well as livening it up a little bit. I have found one interview so far that I am debating on using. I am certain that it will make my paper stronger. When using my interview, I will integrate all of my sources around each other so that they will help each other and not segregate them.
ReplyDeleteI am doing research on interviews about the diet. I have looked in to Dr Michael Mosley's interview about his new dietary program on YouTube and ABC News. I believe that using a source directly from the man who mainstreamed this system will be very beneficial to my paper as far as concrete evidence is concerned. I am also going to source more interviews on others in the field of nutrition.
